Samsung exec hints the S Pen will make a comeback to foldables, someday | Infinium-tech
With thin and light profile of Galaxy Z fold 7, Samsung had to sacrifice something. One of the more notable lapses is a lack of S Pen Support as Samsung dug up the digitizer layer of the folding screen. However, this does not mean that Samsung will leave S Penn on future foldables.

Samsung MX (Mobile Experience) Managing Director – Kang Min -Sek spoke to Korean outlet ET News And confirmed that the consumers wanted a thin and light product and had to trade. While Z Fold7 does not have S Penn support, Samsung is not giving up on adding stylus support to future Galaxy foldables, but this is a case of “technology not yet”.
We are also doing research and development on thin and innovative technologies for S Penn, so we will reconsider it when the level of perfection will increase and consumer is demanded. ” – Kang Min -Secost, Samsung MX Managing Director
The decision to remove S Pen Support along with lack of battery capacity and improvement in charging speed may not sit well with consumers, but Kang argues that these decisions were made in relation to consumer demand for a thin and light equipment.
He has also mentioned that Samsung “is aiming to carry forward an ideal product balance, not only thinness and lightness”, so we will expect that we will look at Z -fold equipment in future with large batteries, fast charging and S pen support.
