Realme GT8 Pro debuts swappable camera islands, Ricoh tuned 50MP main cam and SD Elite Gen 5 | Infinium-tech
Round, square or angled – these are the usual suspects when we’re talking smartphone camera islands, but Realme has its eye on bringing a more personalized look. The Realme GT8 Pro is the brand’s first smartphone to feature an interchangeable camera housing, allowing you to completely change the look of your phone in a few simple steps.

The camera deco of the GT8 Pro has two Torx screws on the side, which hold the module in place. The system appears to use magnets, so you can quickly pop the housing in place and then add two screws to secure it in place. Realme revealed that it will offer all kinds of designs, including square, round, and robot styles, which will be available from the brand’s official store.

The GT8 Pro is not only focusing on looks but it also brings a capable triple camera setup powered by a Ricoh-tuned main camera, marking the official debut of the Realme x Ricoh collaboration.
The 50MP main camera of the GT8 Pro comes with a 1/1.56-inch sensor and f/1.8 aperture. The GT8 Pro is also compatible with Ricoh GR’s 28mm and 40mm full-frame equivalent focal lengths. You also get access to Ricoh GR’s five iconic photography tones – Positive, Negative, High-Contrast Black & White, Standard, and Monochrome.
The main shooter is supported by a 65mm equivalent 200MP periscope with 3x optical zoom and 12x lossless zoom. It uses a 1/1.56” sensor (ISOCELL HP5) with an f/2.6 aperture and features dual-axis OIS stabilization.
The third shooter on the rear is a 16mm equivalent 50MP ultrawide lens with f/2.0 aperture and 116-degree FOV. Video recording is top-notch at 8K resolution and 30 fps.
The rest of the spec sheet is equally impressive. You get the flagship Snapdragon Elite Gen 5 Extreme Edition chipset paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. Realme is also bringing its own custom R1 graphics chip.

The GT8 Pro gets a flagship AMOLED with QHD+ resolution (3,136×1,440px) and 144Hz refresh rate. The brightness is rated up to 2,000 nits under normal conditions, and can rise to 4,000 nits in local extreme areas. You also get a 32MP selfie camera and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

Elsewhere, the GT8 Pro brings a combined battery capacity of 7,000mAh split between two Si/C cells. The maximum speed for wired charging is 120W while the maximum speed for wireless top-up is 50W. Despite the larger cell, the GT8 Pro is 8.2mm thick compared to the GT7 Pro’s 8.55mm.

The new phone also has IP66, IP68, IP69 ingress protection and boots Android 16-based Realme UI 7 out of the box.
