Pixel 9 Pro Fold snaps in durability test | Infinium-tech
Last year’s Google Pixel Fold was a failure jerryrigeverythingWe’re waiting to see if the Pixel 9 Pro Fold can pass the durability test We’re waiting to see if its successor – the Pixel 9 Pro Fold can pass the durability test.
The start is promising – the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protected cover screen scratches at level 6 on the Mohs hardness scale, while the main UTG screen is covered in plastic and scratches at level 2. It’s all downhill from there as the host adds sand and small stones to the main screen, which promptly find their way inside the device and its hinges.
The bend test starts at 5:40 minutes into the video and just like last year, the 9 Pro Fold doesn’t survive the challenge. When folded from the back, the phone breaks in two, damaging its main display and also opening the cover screen in the process. The main culprit here is the antenna lines that are visible on both sides of the folding screen.
Since the phone is completely opened, the durability test quickly becomes a teardown. We can see all the major components of the phone including the UTG screen, mainboard, vapor chamber, cameras, and dual batteries.
