Open AI’s GPT-5.1 brings updated conversational personalization options | Infinium-tech
OpenAI released its GPT-5.1 model, which brings updated conversation options. The latest update builds on GPT-5 released earlier this year with GPT‑5.1 Instant and GPT‑5.1 Thinking modes. OpenAI claims that Instant is “warmer, more intelligent, and better at following your instructions” while Thinking is “easier to understand and faster in simple tasks, more stable in complex tasks”.
OpenAI is also allowing users to fine-tune the tone style of ChatGPT directly from Settings. Additionally, GPT-5.1 users can also toggle between eight conversation tone presets, including: Default, Professional, Friendly, Candid, Quirky, Affectionate, Nerdy, and Cynical.
GPT‑5.1 Instant and Thinking is available now for Pro, Plus, Go, and Business users, with the free tier coming to them in the coming days. GPT‑5.1 is set to become the default model for all interactions.
