OnePlus Open 2 to have a massive battery, rumor claims | Infinium-tech
OnePlus is working on a new foldable with huge battery improvements, revealed Digital Chat Station. The Open 2 may reach a limit of 6,000 mAh, the leakster revealed on his Weibo page. The phone is expected to arrive in Q1 2025 with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset.
The new cell could be a result of the Glacier battery technology, which OnePlus recently announced in China in partnership with CATL.
It’s a silicon-carbon solution that’s more efficient, durable, and extremely energy-dense – the Ace 3 Pro is expected to be the first device with the new cell that packs 763 Wh/L, which is 23% better than current Li-Ion cells.
The OnePlus Open came with a 4,805mAh battery, and it performed well in our battery life test compared to other phones with the same form factor.
With the development of battery technology, we expect that Hot Competition between the Open 2 and other competitors, especially since the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro and Honor Magic V3 feature Si/Co batteries with 5,700mAh and 5,150mAh capacities respectively.
