OnePlus Ace 5, Ace 5 Pro coming with new cameras, bigger batteries | Infinium-tech
The OnePlus 13 is expected to arrive next month, around the same time that Qualcomm will announce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset that will power the flagship. Now we have learned that the company is also preparing the Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro for launch in China, and both phones will be a big upgrade over their predecessors.
Both will feature the new 50 MP camera sensor with 1/1.56″ size, which is part of Sony’s IMX9 lineup. Apart from this, the Pro will also have a telephoto shooter with a periscope lens, which we haven’t seen in any Ace phone till now.
OnePlus will use the new X2 OLED by BOE, which is expected to first appear in the OnePlus 13. The screen will have a 1.5K resolution (about 1260p) and will be a flat panel, with no curved edges.
The phones might sound similar, but the big difference will be the chipset – the Ace 5 will get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and the Ace 5 Pro will run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
Both phones are expected to benefit from a new battery technology that OnePlus has developed in collaboration with CATL. It’s called the Glacier Battery, and it’s extremely thin but has increased capacity; this means the Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro will get a 6,000mAh battery with 100W wired charging.
