One UI 8.5 changelog leaks: improvements to battery management, DeX, AI and more | Infinium-tech
Samsung has been testing One UI 8.5 for a while now, although not everything is going according to plan. But now we have a detailed list of what to expect from the next major update.
Tarun Vats has posted a leaked changelog for One UI 8.5. There will be improvements to DeX, for example the size and position of the app window will be remembered. The battery will get a new, more detailed information screen with remaining time, charging status, and a daily usage report for the past week. It also includes an improved power saving mode that will offer a choice between standard and maximum saving levels.

Samsung will introduce new ways to share your data. For example, Quick Share will have a receive-only mode that will only allow devices signed in to your Samsung or Google account to send files to your phone. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Quick Share will use facial recognition and suggest sharing photos with people who are in them.
Cross-device features include storage sharing – you’ll be able to access files from your Samsung phone on your Samsung tablet and PC and vice versa. You can also use your Samsung TV to watch files from your phone (which would be a handy way to browse your photos and videos at home).

This all probably has to do with the move away from Microsoft OneDrive and towards Samsung Cloud. However, that’s not all, you will be able to mirror your phone screen to your TV and other Samsung devices.
Additional AuraCast features will be added in One UI 8.5, including the option to broadcast your voice to supported headsets and speakers.

Of course, there are AI updates in store. Bixby would be better at changing settings and accessing features. It will also be smarter when answering your questions (plus, there will be a history of the conversation). Galaxy AI Photo Assist Editor will be able to generate and edit images without forcing you to save each iteration, speeding up the process. And if you go too far, the edit history will let you choose your favorite version.
There are many more features in the changelog – from customization options to theft-protection features, as well as several Samsung Health improvements.
