Netflix disables casting to TVs and TV streamers | Infinium-tech
In a strange anti-customer move, Netflix has quietly disabled the ability to cast its content from mobile devices to “most TVs and TV streaming devices” like Google TV streamers and older Chromecast models with remotes.
However, you can still cast to older Chromecasts, which don’t come with a remote. And this is the key – basically, if it has a remote, casting is disabled. If it doesn’t have a remote, casting to it still works.

Don’t get us wrong, navigating Netflix remotely may be better for some people than using casting, which is downright unreliable at times, but this is still a strange and baffling move on Netflix’s part, and the company has issued absolutely no explanation for its move, other than that it’s intended to “improve the customer experience,” which is completely ridiculous.
By the way, this isn’t limited to the free or cheapest plans – this is the case no matter how much you’re paying Netflix per month.
