iPhone 17e to get a camera upgrade | Infinium-tech
Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17e will come with a camera upgrade, according to a new research note from analyst Jeff Pu. Notably, it will get an 18MP selfie camera just like the rest of the iPhone 17 family.
It was introduced with the iPhone 17 series, so it’s great and surprising to see Apple extend it to the cheapest models in the lineup so quickly — it’s not often that the company does something like this.
The new camera uses a square sensor, which lets you take vertical or horizontal selfies without shaking the phone. Pu says the iPhone 17e will arrive in “mid-1Q26”, i.e. in February.
The new selfie camera will be one of the main upgrades that the iPhone 17e will bring compared to its predecessor, the other being the A19 chip, which is also used by the iPhone 17.
