Huawei nova Flip debuts with 6.94-inch LTPO OLED, 4,400 mAh battery and 66W charging | Infinium-tech

Huawei is no stranger to the foldable market and its latest device is the Nova Flip which adopts a compact flip fold approach. This is the first foldable entry in the Nova lineup and is offered in multiple bold colours with a fashion-forward approach.

Despite being primarily advertised as a fashion accessory, the Nova Flip features impressive hardware including a waterdrop hinge mechanism that has passed rigorous testing from SGS Switzerland and is rated at 1.2 million bends. The device measures just 6.88mm in its unfolded state and weighs 195 grams.

It has a square 2.14-inch OLED cover display right next to the dual cameras while inside is a 6.94-inch LTPO OLED with FHD+ resolution and 1-120Hz refresh rate. The cover display also acts as a viewfinder for the main camera and can also run some first-party apps like weather, music, and calendar.

Cameras include a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.56-inch RYYB sensor and F/1.9 aperture, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 32MP front-facing camera.

Huawei didn’t reveal the chipset or the amount of RAM on the Nova Flip, but a previous Geekbench listing suggests the phone is running on the Kirin 8000 chip, which could also be seen on the Huawei Nova 12 and 12 Pro.

Talking about the software, it has HarmonyOS 4.2 which brings many AI tricks including subject removal tool, text selection from image and image generation. Nova Flip also has a 4,400mAh battery with 66W wired charging.

The 512GB variant is priced at CNY 5,688 ($798) while the 1TB storage model costs CNY 6,488 ($911). The open sale in China is set to begin on August 10.
