Honor Magic8 Lite review – GSMArena.com tests | Infinium-tech
Introduction
The Honor Magic8 Lite isn’t exactly the lightweight Magic8 or Magic8 Pro, despite what its model name might suggest. But it’s certainly shaping up to be an excellent mid-range offering, with an attractive design, promising battery life and the premium photography prowess offered by the flagship models.
Magic8 Lite is an IP68/IP69-rated smartphone that withstands water immersion up to 6 meters deep. And it’s also drop-resistant up to 2.5 meters. For comparison, the Magic6 Lite was IP53-rated and the Magic7 Lite-IP64-certified.

The new model brings a 6.79-inch AMOLED screen with 1200p resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1B colors. It supports HDR streaming, which is another upgrade over the previous model.
The Magic8 Lite runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, not a huge improvement over the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 inside the Magic6 Lite and Magic7 Lite, but at least with modern CPU cores.
Unfortunately, no updates have been seen in the camera department. It sports a 108MP OIS primary camera along with a 5MP ultrawide secondary, along with a 16MP selfie imager on the other side.

Finally, the Magic8 Lite is powered by a large 7,500mAh battery that is capable of 66W fast wired charging. But even with such a strong battery, the phone didn’t get thick; In fact, it’s even thinner with a 7.8mm profile.

The Honor Magic8 Lite feels like a solid mid-range phone, although we expected some camera improvements over older models as there are similarly priced phones with more versatile cameras.

Also, it is worth noting that Magic8 Lite is a newer version of Honor X9d With a slightly smaller battery. It is also very similar to the Honor X70, especially in appearance.
Unboxing the Honor Magic8 Lite
The Honor Magic8 Lite comes in a thin paper box, which houses the phone and a 3A-rated USB-A-to-C cable.
The phone’s screen already has a thin protective folio attached to it.

That’s it. There is no case and no charger inside the box of the review unit we received.
