Here’s the price difference between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and the Dimensity 9400 | Infinium-tech
MediaTek is unveiling its next flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9400, on October 9. Then, just a few days later, Qualcomm will unveil its Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (which may be called Snapdragon 8 Elite). For the next year, these will be the dominant chipsets for Android devices, and many smartphone makers have recently had to make a very tough choice in figuring out which one to go with for their upcoming devices.
That decision may or may not be partly influenced by pricing. According to prolific Chinese leakster digital chat stationThe Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is significantly more expensive than its MediaTek counterpart.
D.C.S It is said that the Dimensity 9400 can be purchased for around $155, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is priced at $190. These are the base prices, however, some smartphone manufacturers may be able to negotiate much better amounts depending on their orders.
Snapdragon is more than 20% more expensive, and for a lot of devices that can make a difference in their price. Both the upcoming SoCs are rumored to be absolutely stellar in terms of performance, easily surpassing any other chipset made for Android devices.
However, it remains to be seen whether they manage to beat Apple’s A18 series as well. It’s still unclear how they’ll perform compared to each other, but we’re sure there will be plenty more benchmark runs leaked in the next few days, so stay tuned.
