For another year, Google’s hardware department is getting out of not one but two compact-shaped flagship phones. You have found Google Pixel 10 as “Entry-Level” flagship for Pixel 10 series, while Google Pixel 10 Pro makes vanilla models with better cameras and comes with large memory configurations.

Size comparison

There is no practical size difference between Vanilla Pixel 10 and Pro models. Both have the same weight and have similar dimensions.

There is no difference in build quality. Both IP68-rated water and dust are against, and the front and back of an aluminum frame have the facility of Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.

Performance comparison

Google Pixel 10 and 10 Pro has very similar performances, but Pro is just one better. It has a high resolution and is technically slightly brighter in auto mode. Charging speed

It is no surprise that Pixel 10 and 10 Pro shows similar performances in our benchmark tests. The minor differences you see are well within the statistical error range.

Camera comparison

The biggest difference camera between Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro is hardware. Naturally, Pro gets better sensors. The main 50MP camera has a much larger sensor than the 48MP unit on non-ex-Prop, and the 48MP telephoto unit of Pro commits 10.8MP shooter on Pixel 10. The same goes to ultravides (48MP and 13MP). Selfie of 42MP on more expensive models, in principle, should provide good image quality compared to 10.5MP selfie cameras of Pixel 10.

Outside the image quality, another difference between two pixels provides only the Pixel 10 Pro only Pro shooting mode that gives you tinker with camera settings such as ISO, exposure, shutter speed, etc.

There is also a small feature inequality in video recording. For example, Pixel 10 Pro is advertised to support 8K video recording (after shooting the video includes cloud-based apascling). Pixel 10 Pro also has video boost and night vision video mode.

image quality

Surprisingly, in good light, there is not much difference between ultravide stills. Both phones output comparable quality images, but 10 Pro get bonus points for their close focus distance and low geometric deformation caused by ultravide lens (although it may not be clear in each shot).

When it comes to the main camera, however, the Pixel 10 Pro usually produces good looking photos. While in contrast, the overall rendering in the context of color and dynamic range is very similar, 10 Pro comes out as a winner with better sharpness and definition of distant objects. The difference becomes even more pronounced in the position of more challenging light, such as when shooting indoors.

2x crop zoom photos are a better on Pixel 10 Pro. The 10 Pro also takes a more solid lead in the 5x telephoto race. Stills from the pro model are more elaborate, sharp and cleaner.

The main camera of the 10 Pro has many similar benefits with the upper hand. Both these cameras have larger sensors than Pixel 10.

2x shots at night, however, look exactly the same between two phones.

The cleaner once again captures the cleaner with its large sensor with the Pixel 10 Pro telephoto cam, and more accurate white balance.

When it comes to selfie, we can really make no difference in quality, even when zoom in. But this is not the whole picture. The selfie cam of Pixel 10 Pro uses 18 mm focal length, providing you a wider area compared to 21 mm of Pixel 10. The fact that the supporter still holds the same sharpness and expansion with this broader perspective is really very impressive.

video quality

Generally, the Pixel 10 Pro takes better looking videos during the day, no matter the camera. It is the most noticeable in ultravide and main camera videos (even on 2x), where Pro produces slightly faster and more detailed footage with a broad dynamic range.

At night, pro videos are usually cleaner and solve in more detail. Color rendering and vice versa on non-ex-footage is more preferred. The shadow is also slightly bright, which negatively affects the opposite to some extent.

Decision

At the end of the day, the Pixel 10 and 10 Pro provide a large extent the same user experience. Many users will not give the difference between the two, and Google is targeting them with Pixel 10. This is a perfect choice for users who are gaining pure pixel experience without breaking the bank.

On the other hand, Pixel 10 Pro will appeal to those who take photos or videos more often. Of course, the camera profit is not as big as we expect, but it is still a better option in this regard, and it also has some additional features.

Additionally, 10 pro default comes with more RAM (16 GB), so these are better future proofs. You also get large storage options on 10 Pro (512GB or 1TB), which are not available for Pixel 10, and it can be probably a decisive factor alone. And finally, 10 Pro comes with a bright and high-rage screen.

But is it worth $ 200/€ 200 for Pixel 10 Pro? Well, it depends on you. You are essentially paying the price premium for a slightly better cameras and high-rage screens. Some would say that it is worth it, others will compromise to make less payments for Pixel 10 and still enjoy which is essentially the same user experience.
