Detailed Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 leak shows off refined design, head gestures | Infinium-tech
Some time ago, we saw sketches of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 4, but now new, much more detailed images have been discovered in the code of One UI 8.5, as well as details that reveal new features for the upcoming generation.
We have some good or bad news, depending on whether you liked Stems or not. They’re here to stay – the Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro will still have stems.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro will have flat stems and a lay-flat case
However, the stems will become flattened, moving away from the triangular shape of the third generation buds. And “blade lights” are nowhere to be seen.
The charging case has also been redesigned and the buds are now flat. There’s a USB-C port on the back for charging, and a button that triggers the Find Your Phone function (the phone makes a sound to help you find it). Things could also work the other way around – it appears there’s a loudspeaker grill on the other side of the charging port, which would allow the charging case to make sound as well.
New features are coming in Galaxy Buds 4th generation
The big upgrade this generation will be head gestures – you can nod or shake your head to trigger certain actions: answering calls or notifications, hearing notifications read aloud (and canceling reading), dismissing alarms and timers, and more. If you’re chatting with the phone’s AI assistant, you’ll be able to answer “yes or no” questions by nodding or shaking your head.
The stems will serve as hardware controls with squeezing and swiping functions. Buds 4 will also feature adaptive noise control, 360° audio recording, and fast pairing with a phone or tablet. The case will have a slightly larger battery.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro will be unveiled alongside the Galaxy S26 generation in late January and launched in early February, if recent reports prove to be true.
