It is quite clear that the main sales point of the new iPhone Air is not a camera, but this does not mean that it can be away with the average image quality.
The only camera on the back uses a familiar 48MP, 1/1.56 “sensor, coupled with a f/1.6 aperture. Apple promises zoom quality like optical, optical on 2x on Apple 2X, which compensates the absence of a dedicated zoom camera.
The selfie camera is completely new, however, and we have not seen it on the iPhone before. Apple has an unconventional approach with a selfie unit, as it uses a square sensor, which produces 18MP shots in both portraits and landscape orientations. The new selfie also receives OIS and a comprehensive 20 mm lens – some samples go from here.
For video recording, the new iPhone Air and its colleagues introduced 60fps during video recording and Dolby Vision-Numerous 4K video recording in spatial audio. You can adjust the sounds even after a capture. For example, you can reduce the same ambient noise similar to Samsung’s audio eraser feature.
