ChatGPT’s Instant Checkout lets you buy things inside your chat | Infinium-tech
Today Openai is launching an instant checkout in the Chatgpt operated by a new Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP), which has been created in collaboration with the strip.
In practice it means that if you are in America, whether you are using the chat tier you are using (involved for free), you can buy directly from US vendors on Etsy on your chat. Currently only single items purchase is supported.
That said, in the future, multi-synteum carts will be supported when “more than a million shopped merchants” will also be added to the mixture. Openai has planned to expand the access to this feature in more areas.
If you are talking about an item, then immediately supports checkouts with chat, you simply buy, confirm your shipping and payment details, and complete the purchase without leaving the chat. Orders, payments and supply are controlled by traders using their current systems – Chatgpt is just passing the information between you and the businessman. This service is free for users, but Openai withdraws “small fee” from traders.
The ACP is being opened to allow more traders and developers to make integration. As the name means, ACP is “an open standard for AI commerce that allows AI agents, people and businesses to work together to buy”. Openai bills it as “powerful, safe and easy to adopt”.
