According to the post, Apple will follow a “normal iteration phase”, meaning annual updates with the same thin and light design. The device is expected to have a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR panel with Face ID, but will feature a notable camera upgrade at the back.

Apple is now expected to introduce a 48MP ultrawide lens, which will join the 48MP primary shooter. The biggest problem with the current Air models is the single camera on the back, which Apple is confidently advertising as “multiple cameras in one.” And while it offers a 2x telephoto mode that crops, there’s no way to simulate an ultrawide lens.

According to the new leak, Apple will place the second camera horizontally instead of a vertical arrangement like the iPhone 17. It remains to be seen whether the second generation Air will capture spatial video, as this was one of the reasons Apple turned to the vertical camera arrangement on its base iPhone.
