Android 16’s exact release date leaks | Infinium-tech

Google recently announced that Android 16 will arrive earlier than its predecessor, with the launch scheduled to take place in the second quarter of next year, i.e. between April and June.

Today a new rumor claims to give us the exact release date: June 3rd. It’s not just the day the code will be released to the Android open source project, but apparently it’s also the day of the over-the-air rollout of updates. Android 16 will be rolling out to Google’s Pixels, unlike what happened this year when more than a month passed between the AOSP release and the actual OTA update rolling out.

As Google has already mentioned, the main reason for releasing early in the year is to ensure that more smartphones can launch with it. This obviously includes the Pixel 10 family, which, if 2024 history repeats itself, will be unveiled in August, but will likely also include Samsung’s next foldable launching in July.
