Xiaomi India will introduce the Redmi 15A next week | Infinium-tech
So, that’s what the “Hero” teaser was all about – Xiaomi is bringing back its affordable Redmi A-series next week. The last one was the Redmi 10A due in early 2022. Note that this is different than the Redmi A5, which is an Android Go Edition phone. Redmi 10A runs on full-fat Android.
Xiaomi Redmi 15A: Octa-core CPU • 5G chipset with dual-camera
Redmi 15A will become the first 5G-enabled phone in its family. Details are a bit sparse, but here are some other details to look forward to. For context, the 10A was launched four years ago for ₹8,500.
The 15A will have the “largest and smoothest” display in its segment (though, which segment is that?). The 120Hz refresh rate is notable because the 10A had a 60Hz IPS LCD.
Xiaomi Redmi 15A: 120Hz display • 6,300mAh battery
Also, the phone will be equipped with a 6,300mAh battery. This is again a solid jump compared to the previous model, which had a 5,000mAh battery (to be fair, that was four years ago).
The dual-camera upgrade is also significant in the context of previous A-series phones, but we’ll have to wait for more teasers to know anything about the sensors. Similarly, the phone will have an IP rating, but the exact specifications are TBA.
Xiaomi India will introduce Redmi 15A next week on March 27. You can keep an eye on this landing page For new details.
