Weekly poll results: the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro are too expensive, but a price cut can fix that | Infinium-tech
As expected, the €100 price increase for the Xiaomi 17T series disappointed many voters in last week’s survey. However, Xiaomi also made some good choices.
The Xiaomi 17T is smaller than its predecessor and its Pro brother – it has a 6.59″ display versus a 6.83″ display on the 15T and 17T Pro. Hardly anyone complained about the small size, so Xiaomi did a good job. The large battery (6,500mAh) inside the phone definitely helps.
The capable 50MP 5x/115mm periscope also proved a popular change with voters. And while the Dimensity 8500 Ultra can’t contend with flagship-grade silicon, it’s the perfect chipset for tying it all together.

The price of the Xiaomi 17T Pro has crossed a psychological threshold as even more people complain about how expensive it is and think they can get better hardware for their money. Flaws that might have been forgivable at the 15T Pro price point are now hard to ignore – a USB-C 2.0 port has no place on a €900 phone, many said in the comments. Even though the said port can charge a 7,000mAh battery at 100W.
While the 17T Pro is a capable flagship killer, its price keeps it too close to a true flagship for comfort. And the changes to the 15T Pro are smaller than the 15T to 17T upgrade. It’s mostly the battery (up from 5,500mAh) and the new Dimensity 9500 chip (up from the 9400+). Still, with the solid discount, the 17T Pro may prove more popular than the vanilla 17T.
