Weekly poll results: the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus struggles to justify its higher price | Infinium-tech

Last week we asked for your opinion on the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus. It was already available in the UK and has since been launched in India as well. Let’s see how the poll went.

The Plus model is £50 more for the 12/256GB unit in the UK and ₹2,000 more for the 8/256GB unit in India. And that’s the difference if you look at the MSRP, the regular 2a phone has been in the market for a while and is often available at a discount, making the price difference even bigger.

And so, not surprisingly, many feel the new phone is too expensive for what it offers. There hasn’t been a switch to a different chipset to deliver better performance, but the chip will have to prove itself in reviews. The company has upgraded the selfie camera to a 50MP unit capable of capturing 4K video. This is another unknown – reviews can really change opinions about this phone.

Weekly survey results: The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus struggles to justify its high price

Nothing is a young company and is still building out its distribution network. This means some regions are left out – even a major market like the US only gets a “beta” program with poor carrier support. This isn’t a big issue yet, but it will become a serious issue if Nothing ignores it.

For most voters in the survey, the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus isn’t the best mid-ranger they can spend their money on – even the regular Nothing Phone (2a) is a better deal, along with all the brands competing in this segment.
