Weekly poll results: nubia Z60 Ultra Leading can be a winner, but update questions still loom | Infinium-tech
Last week we saw two newly launched Nubia Z phones that have some similarities but target slightly different segments and had different results.
The Nubia Z60 Ultra is a small upgrade over the leading original Z60 Ultra with a faster version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. This model received a lot of positive feedback and can only get better with great reviews. We have a unit and tests are already underway, so expect a full review soon.
Some commentators expressed concerns about the chipset – particularly its age. Qualcomm is probably putting the finishing touches on the 8th Gen 4 and the first phones using it will be unveiled before the year is out. So why get a 3rd Gen phone now when you can wait a few months and buy the Nubia Z70 Ultra?
Another complaint was about ZTE’s lack of long-term software support — this is history repeating itself, with the original Z60 Ultra also coming out of the survey with questions about future updates. For what it’s worth, the Z50 Ultra launched with Android 13 last year and is now on Android 14.
The Nubia Z60S Pro didn’t fare as well – the model sits slightly below the flagship segment and is priced like a potential flagship killer. However, the hardware is a slight step up from last year’s Z50S Pro and most people who voted think their money would be better spent on a competing device from 2024.
The Nubia Z60S Pro has gotten some positive attention – it’s a relatively inexpensive phone with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and a large display. If it gets good reviews it could have a great future.
