The vivo X300 Ultra will upgrade audio quality on all levels | Infinium-tech
The Vivo
Vivo’s Han Boxiao took to Weibo to tease some important improvements to the upcoming audio capture and audio reproduction. global Flagship.
The first is to enhance how the phone uses its four available microphones. They will combine spatial recording with noise reduction and AI smarts to isolate voices and enhance sound recording.
Below is a screenshot shared by Boxiao from the X300 Ultra’s new camera app. The phone will be able to capture audio directionally, tune recordings to the front or back of the phone, add noise reduction (from 0 to 100%), and even gain adjustments (from -100 to 100), which is a Pro feature.

The second improvement is more hardware-based and less AI. The X300 Ultra is getting a bigger and smarter top speaker. It will reportedly be about 3 times larger with a cavity of 0.8cc. This is an increase of approximately 167% in physical size per individual. Flagship phones typically have around 0.3cc to 0.5cc speaker cavities. This is because the camera module, which is usually at the top of the phone, takes up space.
Vivo has also increased the amplifier by 20%. The result, according to Boxiao, is about a 4dB improvement in lower (bass) frequencies around 300Hz and wider high frequencies by 3kHz. This means the top response can increase from 17kHz to 20kHz, which, while impressive on paper, will be lost on most users.

Vivo has reportedly repurposed the entire top right side of the phone to serve as a speaker enclosure and has moved the speaker cavity cover “into the bracket.” Vivo says that it has patented this innovative design.
It seems like a mix of realistic hardware-based claims and marketing speak. We’ll find out when we test the in-house speakers.
