Samsung’s VR headset Project Moohan leaks in full | Infinium-tech
If we go by the rumor from earlier this month, Samsung will fully reveal its VR headset codenamed Project Muhan on October 21st. So it’s no surprise that we’re finally getting some concrete information about what could be called the Galaxy XR. The leak includes official-looking renders and key specifications.
The Galaxy XR will be equipped with two 4K micro-LED displays with 4,032 PPI. Both displays will feature a combined 29 million pixels, which is more than the 23 million pixels offered by Apple’s Vision Pro or Meta’s Quest 3 headset.
The Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 is tasked with doing the heavy lifting, while multiple sensors and cameras will be able to track your hands, eyes, and the environment. The eyewear has four sensors on the front and two on the bottom, which are used for hand tracking, along with a proximity sensor placed near the forehead. It is mainly for security as it sees physical boundaries like walls, ceiling, furniture etc.
The four cameras inside are tasked with eye tracking, but they’re also aided by AI to increase accuracy.
There is also a set of microphones that can isolate your voice from surrounding sounds and also detect other people’s voices so you can hear them more clearly.
Moving on to the design, we see exactly the same look we saw back in January when Samsung revealed the headset. Reportedly, there are plenty of cushions inside that make wearing the headset more comfortable, and the band is, of course, adjustable with the dial on the back.
The volume and power buttons are located on the top and a cable runs along the left side of the band that connects to the power source, while the right side houses a touchpad. Battery life is said to be 2 hours with normal use and 2.5 hours with video playback.
The entire system reportedly weighs 545 grams, which is slightly lighter than the Apple Vision Pro at 600-650 grams, but 30 grams more than the Meta’s Quest 3.
For example, the headset will come with a pair of controllers for more accurate hand tracking in virtual 3D environments while gaming. Of course they will feature haptic feedback.
Last but not least, we get some screenshots from the One UI XR, if this will indeed be the branding of the software.

As we’ve already noted, the release date isn’t official yet, but rumors so far point to the end of this month, October 21st to be exact. As far as price is concerned, the leak suggests that it will cost at least $1,800.
