Samsung said to discontinue its Galaxy Z Flip lineup after the Flip8 | Infinium-tech
According to a Chinese tipster with a solid track record, especially when it comes to Samsung-related leaks, the company may discontinue the Galaxy Z Flip lineup. And the Galaxy Z Flip8 will be the last of its kind.

Now, we have heard these speculations many times over the years, but they have never come out from some reputable sources like ice universe. And at the time, it didn’t seem plausible, as the foldable segment was booming.
However, a few years later, Samsung’s drastic decision is starting to look a little more credible. First, we have rising RAM prices, which forces manufacturers to charge more for their smartphones. Take, for example, the recently released Motorola Razr 70 and Razr 70 Ultra. Both handsets are quite expensive and Motorola blames the price hike on component prices.
Secondly, if you haven’t been paying close enough attention, you might have missed that there aren’t very many clamshell-style foldables available in Western markets. Oppo, Xiaomi, Vivo and Honor have either stopped selling the flip foldable in Europe and the US or have never sold it outside China. This makes Samsung and Motorola the only smartphone manufacturers to have flip foldables in their portfolio.
It’s too early to say if this is actually true, but we may see a pause rather than a complete discontinuation of the Flip8 series.
