Samsung partners with a clinical research firm and will provide health data from its wearable devices | Infinium-tech
Samsung and Alcedis are partnering to tie together health data from wearable devices and clinical research. Of course, Samsung will provide health data. Additionally, as a digital-first clinical research organization, Alcidis will collect, analyze and translate biometrics data into meaningful evidence that can then be used for pharmaceutical or other clinical research.

This makes sense to some extent, as wearable devices are widespread among the population and are a cost-effective way to collect continuous real-world health data. The problem is that many people can’t translate wearable data into clinically meaningful evidence, and that’s where Alcidis comes into play.
Both companies will collect clinically validated measurements from bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) and electrodermal activity (EDA). The devices are also capable of collecting data for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and atrial fibrillation (AFib).
