Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Slim to actually be called Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition | Infinium-tech
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold Slim, also known as the Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim, Galaxy Z Fold Ultra, and Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra, won’t use any of those names when it officially arrives. Instead, it’ll be called the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition.
This information comes from renowned leaker Evan Blass, who also revealed that the device will feature a 6.5-inch external screen, an 8-inch internal display, and will be 4.9mm thick when opened and 10.6mm thick when folded.
That would make it more competitive against the Honor Magic V3 and Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, the former of which is 4.35mm thick when opened and 9.2mm when closed, while the latter is 4.6mm / 9.5mm thick respectively. Sure, Samsung isn’t matching either of those, but it’s getting a lot closer with the Fold Special Edition than it ever has with non-special edition Folds, including the latest Z Fold6.
And now for the bad news. According to several previous rumors, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will only be available in Korea and China. That doesn’t make sense to us either, so hopefully it won’t. We’ll have to wait and see what happens. The Fold Special Edition is rumored to launch in Korea in September and in China in October.
