Realme confirms launch date for 300W charging | Infinium-tech

The reports of Realme introducing 300W wired charging were true. The company will reveal this technology at a dedicated event in China on August 14.

The “technological breakthrough” would be a step up from the 240W rates introduced in February 2023, but the teaser doesn’t reveal if a phone will even be featured.

Realme confirms the launch date of 300W charging

The 300W rate is nothing new in the smartphone world – Redmi had announced a similar technology that can charge a smartphone from 0 to 100% in less than five minutes, but almost 18 months after its unveiling, we are yet to see it in real life.

Currently, it is Realme that holds the record for the fastest charging on a commercial smartphone – the GT Neo 5 was launched in China with 240W fast charging and was later introduced in international markets as the Realme GT3. The company promised charging from 0 to 100% in less than 10 minutes, and our real-life tests were almost as close – from 2 to 100% in 11 minutes and 16 seconds.

Realme’s announcement of the 828 next week is right in time for the Realme Fan Festival (8.28 as Realme launched its first smartphone as an independent brand on August 28, 2018), and we can only expect that the 300W smartphone will be sold to enthusiast customers.
