iPhone 18 Pro camera upgrade ‘confirmed’ by another rumor | Infinium-tech
According to one of the most prolific and famous tipsters on Weibo, the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro will get the much-hyped main camera upgrade. In fact, he says it’s “confirmed.”
This upgrade basically means that the main camera module on the iPhone 18 Pro will be physically larger than its predecessor. This will result in an increase in thickness of the camera bump by approximately 2 mm.
The iPhone 18 Pro (and iPhone 18 Pro Max) have long been rumored to get a main camera with a variable aperture, and that alone could explain this size increase. It’s also likely that the sensor itself will be larger, and this will certainly contribute to the additional perimeter.
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to launch in September alongside the iPhone Ultra, while the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e, possibly alongside the iPhone Air 2, according to multiple rumors, are only due to arrive next spring.
