Instagram adds pointless opt-in “AI Creator” labels | Infinium-tech
Instagram has started testing an “AI Creator” label for accounts that frequently post AI-generated content. It looks like this is opt-in, so the account owner will need this label to get it. If they go this route, an “AI Creator” label will appear on their profile and alongside their content.
It’s still a test, so not everyone has access to it yet, but according to Instagram, the feature will expand “in the coming weeks.” Why people who post AI slop would bother letting you know with this badge that they post AI slop is beyond comprehension, but perhaps there is a method to this madness.

Or maybe Instagram just wants to be able to say it’s doing it Some? Regarding AI slop, even though the incentive structure here is completely wrong – the “creators” posting AI slop have zero incentive to label themselves as “AI creators” and Instagram Is to know that. Interestingly, the company assures its “AI Creators” that choosing this badge “does not impact” their account or how content is distributed on Instagram. You see, it’s all about transparency.
