The display is also a great feature on the Pro tablet. Huawei has added two OLED layers similar to the new iPad Pro models and their Tandem OLEDs allow the MatePad Pro 12.2 to offer a maximum brightness of up to 2,000 nits. Huawei claims its dual-layer OLED can last three times longer than regular OLED displays and offer 33% better power consumption.

The MatePad Air features a 12-inch IPS LCD display with the same resolution, refresh rate, and aspect ratio as the Pro model. It supports up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness. Both tablets also support stylus input via Huawei’s M-Pencil stylus.

Huawei hasn’t revealed the chipset used in the new tablet, but the Pro model is likely to have a modified version of the Pura 70 series Kirin 9010. The MatePad Air comes with 8GB/12GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage, while the Pro can be offered with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
