Honor Magic V6 unboxing and hands-on | Infinium-tech
The Honor Magic V6 is now official, so let’s get to the unboxing. Ours is the red model, and it comes with a USB cable and a color-matching red and gold case.
The Magic V6 supports faster 80W wired and 66W wireless charging compared to the Magic V5’s 66W/50W, but you’ll need to purchase the necessary charger.

The back of the case tries to emulate the suede-like finish of the phone’s rear panel, but it doesn’t feel that nice to the touch. However, it has the same color changing properties as a phone – the red color changes its contrast at different angles.
The case also has a clever kickstand built around the camera island.
The Honor Magic V5 was a pioneer in foldable builds. It was one of the strongest foldables of last year; It had IP58 + IP59 protection and offered a larger 5,820mAh battery than most traditional flagship slab phones.
The Magic V6 improves on all these fronts. For starters, the phone is a little thinner and weighs about the same. However, impressively, it has a much larger 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery. The battery has high energy density with approximately 25% silicon content.
The camera system has changed little. You’re looking at pretty much the same triple main camera – 50MP wide angle, 64MP 70mm zoom, and 50MP ultrawide. There are also two 20MP selfie shooters.
But Honor has upped the stabilization to an industry-leading 6.5 CIPA rating.

Honor says the folding 7.95-inch screen has the smallest visible crease on a book-style foldable. To get technical, Honor says the crease is 44% shallower than the V5’s crease, and the internal screen is about 33% more impact-resistant.

The cover display has grown slightly to 6.52-inch (up from 6.43-inch). This is a welcome change for those who want a more traditional smartphone experience when using the foldable closed.
We’re going to be reviewing the Magic V6, but we’ll ask you to have a little patience!
