HMD becomes official smartphone partner of FC Barcelona | Infinium-tech
HMD recently announced that it is becoming the official smartphone partner of FC Barcelona. The company will support the men’s club and the women’s team Barcelona Femini.
The announcement also revealed that the partnership will also include teams from other sports, including basketball, futsal, handball and roller hockey.
The partnership was revealed by Saul Peregrina, the hairdresser of 17-year-old Lamin Yamal, the future star of the Catalan team. The barber cut the HMD logo next to the Barcelona emblem, thereby formally announcing the partnership.
The deal is initially for three years, and will see HMD advertise its smartphones on the digital panels at the Olympic Stadium, where FC Barcelona currently plays. Once the team moves into its renovated home at Camp Nou, the ads will appear there as well.
Afterwards, the partnership will “move toward multiple digital-first content pieces to excite fans and keep the partnership’s visibility level high,” the official press release states.
Earlier, HMD FC Barcelona had a different smartphone partner in the form of Oppo. There were several FC Barcelona-themed Oppo phones like the F1 Plus and Reno 10x Zoom, but recently, the Chinese smartphone maker has been partnering with UEFA to promote its device during the Champions League tournament.
