Google expands Parental Controls and Family Link features with Android 17 | Infinium-tech
Google introduced its set of new Android parental control features last year with the Pixel 10 series, but they’ll reach more Android phones with Android 17. The new controls will give parents more control over their kids’ phones and their digital well-being.
Parental controls are built into Android’s Settings menu and provide a convenient way to track your kids’ screen time, create downtime schedules, apply Google Play app filters, and limit time spent on specific apps. Blocking apps completely is also an option.
For example, parents can set an automatic downtime, which will lock the device at night.

Parental Controls will also provide a direct way for parents to set up Google Family Link, which helps establish greater control remotely. It offers features like school timings, Google Play app download approval, location alerts, etc.
Both Parental Controls and Family Link will be available for phones updating to Android 17.
