DJI Osmo Pocket 4P goes official with dual cameras | Infinium-tech

DJI has officially launched the Osmo Pocket 4P in China, just a month after unveiling the camera at the Cannes Film Festival. The Pocket Gimbal Camera starts at CNY 3,799 for the standard kit.

The Osmo Pocket 4P’s main competitor is the recently announced Insta360 Luna Ultra, another dual-camera pocket gimbal. The two companies are also fighting in court over this, with DJI suing Insta360 over alleged patent infringement and Insta360 responding with a counter-lawsuit involving patents for the gimbal and 360-degree camera technologies.

DJI’s new pocket gimbal camera features a 1-inch main sensor with LOFIC technology, an f/2.0 aperture, and a 20mm equivalent focal length. It is paired with a telephoto camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor, f/1.8 aperture and 60mm equivalent focal length.

The telephoto camera offers 3x native optical zoom and up to 12x digital zoom. The Osmo Pocket 4P also supports 10-bit video recording and D-Log2 color and features a 3-axis mechanical gimbal with intelligent subject tracking.

For video, the camera can record up to 4K resolution at 60fps, while slow-motion footage can be captured at up to 4K 240fps. In terms of photography, it can shoot 37MP still images and also supports panorama mode.

The Osmo Pocket 4P is equipped with a 2-inch rotating touchscreen display that reaches a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. It also includes 3 built-in microphones, weighs 230 grams and comes with 103 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 1 TB via microSD card.

Powering the camera is a 1,545mAh battery with fast-charging support. DJI claims that it takes about 18 minutes to charge from 0 to 80%, while a full charge takes about 32 minutes.

Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth LE 5.4.
