ChatGPT to show ads for free and Go users in the US | Infinium-tech
In an official blog post, OpenAI announced that it has started testing ads for free for ChatGPT and Go users in the US. Ads will only be shown to logged-in adult users, while users under the age of 18 will not be able to see them.
ChatGPT users with Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Education subscriptions will not see any ads. OpenAI also confirmed that ads will not affect replies in chat.

Free ChatGPT users can also choose to disable ads, but doing so will reduce the free message limit. Advertisements shown in chat will also be labeled as ‘sponsored’ and shown separately from replies.
Ads will be based on past conversations, current chat topics, and past ad interactions. Advertisers will only receive data related to how users interact with ads. OpenAI also says it will not share chat histories, memories or any personal user information with advertisers.

Ads will also not be shown in chats revolving around health, mental health and politics. Additionally, users will have control over the ads they see in ChatGPT, including options to reject specific ads, provide feedback, understand why an ad is being shown, delete ad data, and personalize their ad preferences.
