Bloomberg: Apple Intelligence is running late, won’t arrive with new iPhones | Infinium-tech
According to a Bloomberg News report, Apple Intelligence’s arrival may be delayed. According to people familiar with the matter, the AI features will not be included in the launch of the new iPhones in September and will be delivered via a software update in October.
Apple hasn’t yet rolled out the AI to software developers, but it’s expected to arrive via the iOS 18.1 beta and iPadOS 18.1 beta this week. The service, which was introduced at WWDC in June, will be available on all new devices powered by the A17 and M series chips.
Some older devices, such as the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max smartphones, all iPad Pro tablets launched after April 2021, and all iPad Air tablets launched after March 2022 will also get the AI feature.
Last month, Apple warned the general public that its AI features could be delayed due to EU technical regulations. Cupertino said that Phone Mirroring, SharePlay Screen and Apple Intelligence will not be rolled out to EU users in 2024 due to regulatory uncertainties caused by the EU’s DMA (Digital Market Act).
EU regulators want Apple to ensure rival products and services can also work with i-devices, while the US company said it was concerned that “interoperability requirements could compromise the integrity of its products” and threaten user privacy and data security.
