Asus Vivobook S 15 S5507 in for review | Infinium-tech
The VivoBook S15 S5507 is ASUS’ first notebook based on the new Snapdragon X Elite chipset. It is also the first machine running on this new platform and certified for Windows Copilot+.
The VivoBook S15 is very simple in appearance, it doesn’t look any different from its x86 counterparts. The machine has a wide 15-inch, 16:9 display and there’s a numpad on the side of the keyboard. The large touchpad is made of glass.
The S5507 runs on the X1E 78 100 variant of the Snapdragon X Elite, which is currently the weakest as it has the lowest clock speed and no higher boost clock is available. However, it still has the same 12-core design with the Adreno X1 GPU. The S5507 pairs this with 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD, which is replaceable.
Coming back to the display mentioned above, you get a 2880×1620 120Hz OLED panel with 600 nits peak brightness and 0.2ms response time. This is currently one of the best-specced displays in the Snapdragon X Elite family of devices. You also get an FHD webcam up top with a sliding privacy cover and IR function for Windows Hello support.
Connectivity-wise, the S5507 is no slouch either, with 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, 2x USB 4.0 Gen 3 Type-C ports, HDMI 2.1, headphone jack, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. This is the widest range of ports we’ve seen in this family of devices, as most competing models only make do with a few USB-C ports.
Lastly, it packs a 70Wh battery that supports up to 90W fast charging over USB-C.
We’re currently working on the Asus Vivobook S 15 S5507 review. In the meantime, let us know if you’d like to see anything in particular being tested on the new platform.
