Apple Maps will soon start showing ads, report claims | Infinium-tech
Apple is reportedly planning to introduce ads into its Maps app as it looks to monetize the service. An announcement can be made early this month.
In a report, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, citing sources, said that ads in Apple Maps will operate using a system similar to the one used on Google Maps.

Apple is reportedly planning to let brands and retailers bid on ad placement and search keywords over which ads will appear in search results. For example, a search for “best matcha” might bring up sponsored listings from Starbucks or other nearby coffee chains that have bid on the term.
The report says that ads will be shown on the Maps app on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. They will also appear on Apple’s web app for Maps.
