AltStore PAL is now free thanks to Epic Games grant | Infinium-tech
Nearly four months after its initial launch, AltStore PAL has dropped its €1.50 subscription fee thanks to a “megagrant” from Epic Games. This means that users living in the European Union can now install the third-party app store on their iOS and iPadOS devices for free.
Good news EU 🇪🇺 For innovation in app distribution, Epic Games has awarded us a MegaGrant which we plan to use to cover Apple’s Core Technology Fee going forward – and we don’t take that lightly!

The installation process is simple, you will need an iPhone running on iOS 17.4 or later or an iPad on iPadOS 18 beta with your region set to an EU country. You can then visit AltStore Downloads Section and follow the onscreen prompts. Existing customers will not be charged on their next renewal date.
AltStore plans to use the new grant from Epic Games to cover Apple’s core technology fee, which includes a €0.50 fee for each first annual install each year above the 1 million threshold. Epic Games previously confirmed that it plans to bring its games portfolio, including hit title Fortnite, to AltStore for iOS and iPadOS users in the EU.
