Zero-bezel iPhone unlikely to arrive by 2026 | Infinium-tech
Bezel-less phones are still a dream, even though screen bezels have gotten progressively smaller over the years. Apple has reportedly already been working on bezel-less iPhone screens with Samsung Display and LG Display for several years, but it’s still no closer to production.
Originally, Apple wanted to release a “zero-bezel” iPhone in 2025 or 2026. A new report out of Korea today says a release is currently unlikely, even in 2026. This is because the technology is not there yet.
Apple clearly wants to have a flat screen but have it curved at the edges – a quad micro curve design we gather. That concept has gained a lot of popularity among Chinese smartphone makers recently, but reports about Apple are comparing what the company wants to do to the design of the Apple Watch’s screen. Either way, Apple doesn’t want to bend the screen so much that there is distortion at the edges.
It seems like the company has a very specific idea of what it wants, but unfortunately it seems like it can’t be implemented in mass production yet, hence the dreams of a zero-bezel iPhone. Will probably have to wait until at least 2027 for completion. Understand.
