Apple loses in court, has to stop charging developers for payments outside of the App Store | Infinium-tech
Apple’s request to stay on the US court’s decision has been rejected, so the developers will have to stop charging for payment made outside the app store immediately. The company filed an emergency proposal demanding to be on a decision in April last month, with Apple found in the “Wilful violation” of the 2021 prohibition, which prevented it from force to force anticomotive pricing. It has also been filed an appeal against the decision that is yet to be finalized, so things can still change in the future.
Apple’s stay has been rejected by the 9th Circuit Court. The long national nightmare of Apple Tax has ended.

But for now, Apple needs to stop charging 27% fee on apps being paid through non-apple payment mechanisms, which is surprisingly doing this as it is starting to link apps and does not allow the payment to be handled especially through Apple. The company also has to eliminate the ‘scare screen’, it shows users to users before using third-party payment providers for the iOS app.
Spotify and Amazon are already changing your app to reflect the new situation, so now you can pay for your purchase and membership outside the app store without any ‘Apple Tax’.
