YouTube Premium Lite becomes a much better deal with two new features | Infinium-tech
YouTube relaunched the Premium Lite subscription almost a year ago, in March 2025, and now it has announced some exciting new features for the plan.
While until now YouTube Premium Lite gave you “most videos” ad-free and nothing more, from now on support for background play and downloads is also available for “most videos”.
It will be made available in YouTube Premium Lite everywhere “in the coming weeks.” Regarding ads, the company still only promises that you’ll watch “most videos” ad-free, not all of them with a full subscription.
Still, the Premium Lite is cheaper than the Premium, and now has two features that make it a more attractive offering. However, keep in mind the small print, which says Premium Lite benefits are available “on most non-music content, except Shorts” and “ads may appear when you search or browse”.
