Xiaomi button-less smartphone to arrive next year | Infinium-tech
Xiaomi is reportedly working on a button-less smartphone that it will launch in the first half of next year. It is apparently codenamed Zhuque, and its biggest feature will be that it will have no buttons at all.
Unfortunately the source of this information doesn’t actually know what will replace the buttons – so it could be a combination of gesture controls, pressure-sensitive edges, or voice commands.
The phone will also feature an under-display selfie camera, which is expected to be better than Samsung’s efforts in this space. The Zuk will be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8+ Gen 4 SoC, which will also be used in the Xiaomi 15S Pro, a device that is expected to arrive between April and June 2025.
It looks like the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 4 will be an upgraded version of the 8 Gen 4, which is set to launch this October.
As for the Zuke, we’ll have to wait and see if it will be a success or just a niche demo product like the Meizu Zero. Remember the Meizu Zero? Absolutely.
