WhatsApp is adding support for events in one-on-one chats | Infinium-tech
WhatsApp is trying to compete with the Google calendar and like, working on supporting events in each chat. This is now live for some beta examiners using the latest WhatsApp beta version from Google Play Store.
When it is launched for everyone, it will let you schedule and manage the programs directly within each of your chats. It is only available only in group chats and communities, but now also for personal messages.
So, this allows you to plan meetings, set reminder for events and coordinate individual commitments without the need of another calendar app (take it, google calendar!). It is said that you have a normal time limit with a colleague – you can set the event in WhatsApp and you will remind both about it at the same time. You can also link an event with video or voice calls. When you invite someone to an event, they obtain the option of clearly accepting or declining.
As usual with WhatsApp beta features, it can take several weeks, if not months, until it is out of beta and does not roll out everyone, but it is now clearly on the way.
