The Galaxy A16 5G will use the Dimensity 6300 in India and Thailand | Infinium-tech
The renders of the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G didn’t generate much excitement, but the promise of 6 years of updates (which includes six major OS updates and six years of patches) created quite a stir. The phone moved closer to official status today, with Samsung India releasing a support page and Thailand’s NBTC certifying the phone.
Well, one version of the phone, anyway, the SM-A166P/DS. This is the same model number as the phone Help Page For India.
This version appeared in benchmark results some time ago with the Dimensity 6300 chipset. Later, a different model, the SM-A166E, appeared with the Exynos 1330 instead. It’s likely that different regions are getting different chips. India and Thailand are getting the Dimensity version. One model had just 4GB of RAM, which is going to be tough after six years, but the other benchmark model had 6GB (which isn’t much either). There should be an 8GB option as well.
Based on the leaks, the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G will have a 6.7″ LCD (1,080 x 2,340px, 90Hz, 800 nits), 128/256GB of storage, and basic dust and water resistance with an IP54 rating. It will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery and knowing Samsung, we’d be shocked if it didn’t charge at 25W.
