Samsung’s tri-fold smartphone to only launch in two countries, database listing suggests | Infinium-tech
Samsung’s first tri-folded device (can be called Galaxy G fold) has been a lot in rumors this year, and now it seems that it will get a release later in 2025. This is good news. The bad news is that it can be limited to only two countries.
We have watched the play with the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which was only launched in Korea and China last year, and incidentally there are two countries where Tri-Guuna will also be available.
Samsung tri-folded smartphone in GSM Association Database
This is according to the listing of the phone in the GSM Association database, currently only SM-F968N and SM-F9680 variants up. The suffix “N” uses a Samsung for its home market, while “0” suffix is for its devices fixed to China.
The device has been named Q7M, as recently detected, and it appears as a “market name” in the codename database, of course. This could be a way for Samsung to prevent the device’s name from leaking, and it was clearly successful (until it is called Galaxy G fold, that is).
Historically, Samsung devices join the GSM Association’s database about 6-7 months before their launch. This means that the Tri-folded smartphone can come around October, but certainly nothing is set in the stone yet. What we know is that it will have a very limited production run, which explains limited availability in only two markets.
