Samsung’s latest ad tells you to do your own thing instead of being an iSheep | Infinium-tech
Samsung’s biggest competitor in the smartphone sector is obviously Apple, so it’s no surprise that the Korean company’s latest ad is aimed at irritating that particular bear.
However, this seems a bit disrespectful to people who use and love Apple products. Apparently they’re all following instructions from a mysterious character named Simon (is he the reincarnation of Steve Jobs? We’ll never know). Thus, all these iPhone owners are absolutely iSheep-y. Sure, the ad doesn’t use that word, but the implication is clearly there.
If you try to fit in, you won’t stand out.

On the other hand, “Samsung says do your own thing”. So if you buy a Samsung you will no longer be a sheep desperate to fit in, but can forge your own path, blah blah blah. take him? It’s all very subtle – Samsung is now the one that “thinks different”, referencing the Apple tagline of the ’90s. And that in itself is incredibly unsurprising, since basically everyone on the Internet has read at least one diatribe berating Apple for “thinking different.” yawn.
Anyway, remember: “If you try to fit in, you won’t stand out”. As if it were a binary option in real life. As if a person exists, or has ever existed, who only wanted to fit in and never stand out or vice versa.
