Redmi Turbo 5 unveiled with Dimensity 8500-Ultra, 7,560mAh battery | Infinium-tech
Along with the Turbo 5 Max, which went official in China yesterday, Redmi also unveiled the base Turbo 5 with a smaller battery and the Dimensity 8500-Ultra SoC.
This is the world’s first phone with MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset. The Turbo 5 comes with LPDDR5 Ultra RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, and the same vapor chamber cooling setup as the larger Max model.

The Redmi Turbo 5 features a slightly smaller 6.59-inch AMOLED display than the Max variant. The display offers a 120Hz refresh rate, 3,500 nits peak brightness, and full-HD+ resolution. It is also a 12-bit panel with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support.
The device packs a 7,560mAh battery and supports 100W wired charging. Like Turbo 5 Max, it also has 27W reverse wired charging.

As for the camera, the Turbo 5 sports a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary rear sensor paired with an 8MP ultrawide unit. On the front it has a 20MP selfie camera.
The handset runs Android 16-based Xiaomi HyperOS 3. It gets a metal frame and a glass back panel, similar to the Turbo 5 Max.
Other specs of the phone include an in-display optical fingerprint scanner, an infrared sensor, stereo speakers, 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, and NFC. In terms of dimensions, it measures 8.18 mm thick and weighs 204 grams.

The Redmi Turbo 5 comes in Obscure Cloud White, Light Sea Green and Shadow Black color options.
It is currently available for order via the official Xiaomi China online store. The 12GB/256GB option is CNY 1,999 ($290) and the 12GB/512GB variant is CNY 2,299 ($330). Meanwhile, the 16GB/256GB model will be priced at CNY 2,299 ($330) and the 16GB/512GB option is priced at CNY 2,599 ($370).
