OnePlus Nord 4 teardown reveals very bad reparability | Infinium-tech
The OnePlus Nord 4 marks the return of a metal back, something that has been missing from the smartphone world for the past few years. This certainly makes it stand out amongst devices with glass and plastic backs, but as it turns out it also makes it stand out in a different way – its very poor repairability.
That’s the conclusion we can draw after watching the teardown video below, which shows just how difficult it is to repair the Nord 4. Because of the metal back, it’s very difficult to penetrate the phone. Even getting through the top glass bit still damages the housing.
Removing the metal is the most complicated part of any repair. After that, things get easier. In the end, the Nord 4 receives a repairability score of 4 out of 10, where 10 would be the most and 0 the least repairable.
